The manicure I tried (and succeeded) to protect oh so hard last night! A three-tone chevron-y pattern. Found a tutorial for this on The Beauty Department, check here for it (scroll down to the second tutorial).

The colors I used were from OPI’s new Holland Collection: Gouda Gouda Two Shoes (a browny rose(?) shade with shimmer), Dutch ‘Ya Just Love OPI (a medium warm purple with some shimmer), and I Have a Herring Problem (a warm slate blue with shimmer).

Even though I had a few bleed-unders from the reinforcement stickers, I’m very happy with how this turned out.

Suggestions from me: this is probably obvious but DO NOT put the stickers on polish that has not completely dried. I waited about 20-25 minutes for each coat to dry. So basically I put down the pink, waited 20-ish minutes, put on the stickers and painted the purple, waited again for 20-ish minutes before placing the next set of stickers and final color layer.  If you think your polish has completely dried but are unsure, press a reinforcement sticker briefly to a section of the nail that you’ll paint over later. That way, even if any color does end up being picked up by the sticker you can cover it up with the color going over it.

The Beauty Department says to wait until the polish is dry to remove the stickers, but I prefer to remove them immediately after I paint whatever color I’ve done.
