Fishtail nails! For this I sorta used Precious Polish’s tutorial.
Remember that post I did a while ago about making a nail art brush out an old liquid eyeliner brush? So I took that brush and cut off a lot of the bristles to make it really thin, and that’s what I used to do these. It’s nice because this brush is good at making lines but also good at detail work.
Colors: Julep Hayden, blue and black acrylic paint
Also! A picture of me awkwardly modeling my new ring. Ever wonder why my pointer finger sticks out instead of lining up with my middle finger? Yeah, it curves funny. And my pinky is really short apparently, that’s why it tends to look weird in pictures too.
China Glaze Electric Pineapple
I picked up this color at Ulta in January because it was on clearance for $1.99 so I figured, why not? At the time I didn’t have very many bright colors, and I didn’t own any China Glaze either.
Electric Pineapple is part of the Summer 2011 Island Escape collection, which may be why it was on clearance. Or maybe no one wanted it. Or there was something wrong with it. Either way I like it. Electric Pineapple is a yellow-green creme and it can look more yellow or more green depending on the light. The formula was kind of thin and runny, so I needed to use three coats. I’m sure a coat of white polish underneath would have helped a lot though.
Overall I like this polish, its not *amazing*, but it’s nice to have in my collection, and I’ve used it a few times with nail art already. Now that summer is coming up I’ll probably be using it even more!
Do these remind anyone else of funfetti?
I talk about how I did them here.
I’ve also been told they remind people of sprinkles on a cupcake and strawberry poptarts. No matter what they remind you of, I think they’re super cute :)
Charlie Brown nails :)
For the lines I used the Wet n Wild brush that I mentioned earlier, and I think they turned out pretty well, especially my middle finger!
Here is how I store my nail polish and supplies.
This is one book shelf, filled about 7/8 of the way with nail supplies, the last 1/8 is jewelry.
I have a total of (I think) 71 bottles of polish, and this isn’t my entire collection.
I have them organized in a rainbow. :)
If you have any questions about what is on my shelf, feel free to message me!
Hope Y’all are having a lovely day,
Gaby
Loving this since it’s just so different than what I normally do. It’s Zoya’s Pippa, Essie’s Castaway and Essie’s Licorice. The accent nail has black rhinestones - which I LOVE. This was also my first tape manicure. Not sure it’s a technique I’m in love with, but I might try it again.
